At Yale

Former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan at Yale, January 21, 2013

On campus, Yale engages with Africa in unique ways. Valuable learning about Africa happens inside and outside the classroom. The Yale Africa Initiative supports various programs and events related to African scholarship, leadership, arts and culture

African student-run organizations at Yale host a wide variety of Africa-focused events and conferences engaging with the Yale community as well as the African community at large.

Leadership development and capacity building programs are also a critical focus of the Africa Initiative. Yale students have the opportunity to engage with notable African leaders throughout their academic careers.
